As the heat is setting in and fire bands across the province making the camping experience not so appealing. The SpringBank outdoor theme park Calaway Park will be opening it’s gates for the long weekend.
What makes the 2023 season different from pervious years is a facelift to the park’s main street and a few new attractions which will make even long time season pass holders excited.
CJWE spoke with CEO Bob William of Calaway Park who shared some of the excitement that is coming to the park.
With a hot summer being forecasted there will be areas that are shaded and there will be various water bottle filling stations across the park as well a new 3D theatre that will have air conditioned. It is also advised to bring person protective equipment to protect against the sun by wearing a hat and sunscreen.
Another way to cool off will be jumping into the various water rides including the new attraction Riptide Racers which will not be opening until the summer schedule starts. Williams didn’t share the details of the ride with CJWE but, promises guests will get wet when they try out the new ride.
The park will be opening at 10 A.M. in the morning and staying open until 7 P.M. in the evening for the May long weekend. After the long weekend the Park will resume it’s spring operation hours of 10am to 3pm at a limited capacity.
