2023 Dewberry World Chuckwagon Race results

It was a great day for chuckwagon racing in the Village of Dewberry Sunday as weather and racetrack conditions were perfect on a highly anticipated final day at the Dewberry World Chuckwagon Races.With the championship on the line in the $25,000.00 Championship Final Heat, it was Chad Fike – driving the Al’s Contracting Outfit, and along with outriders Trey MacGillivray and Tyler DeSutter, who ultimately prevailed. The win was the first for chuckwagon driver Chad Fike.

In an extremely exciting championship final heat, Fike captured the Dewberry crown with a penalty free run of 1:09.09 after coming off of barrel position number 1 in the championship final. Vern Nolin from barrel position number 3 placed second in the heat, 49 one-hundredths of a second behind the winner Chad Fike, with Dustin Gorst placing third from barrel position number 2 in a penalty free heat.

As far as day results go, it was former Dewberry champion Obrey Motowylo, driving the VJV Livestock Marketing Group – Ponoka, Westlock, Rimbey Outfit who had not only the fastest time of the afternoon with a 1:08.16, but the fast time of the race meet from barrel number 2 in the fifth heat.

2023 Dewberry Champion Chad Fike was second on the day, 93 one-hundredths of a second behind Motowylo. Chance Thomson, Layne MacGillivray and Vern Nolin filled out the top five times on the final day of racing.

The WPCA Pro Tour will now move onto Medicine Hat, Alberta for the running of the Medicine Hat Exhibition & Stampede starting on Thursday, June 22, 2023 and running through to Sunday, June 25, 2022.
