The Awa Taan Healing Lodge Society recently relocated their offices to 525 28st S.E. Calgary, and they held an open house today June 19th. Uncle Trent had the opportunity to speak with Samantha Efthimiou the operations manager about their programs and how people can connect with the organization. You can hear their conversation here:
The Awo Taan Healing Lodge Society is dedicated to supporting the emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual healing and wellbeing of women during their time of crisis and beyond. The shelter offers a full range of in-house crisis and outreach crisis, healing, and prevention programs. There is also a children’s program to ensure each child’s emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual healing and wellbeing are supported as well.
Their Mission:
To provide shelter and community services, guided by Native traditional teachings, to anyone affected by family violence and abuse. To provide a broad continuum of support services, guided by Aboriginal traditional teachings, that include prevention, intervention, and healing to anyone affected by any form of abuse.
