CJWE, Alberta’s Best Country is on the lookout for our next on-air Host in our Calgary Office.

We broadcast across Southern Alberta, including Calgary (88.1 FM), Lethbridge (103.5 FM) & Medicine Hat (106.3 FM)

This position will provide listeners and digital audience with entertaining and informative programming, including news, weather, music and other relevant content.

On-Air Responsibilities

• Execute and host a highly topical, fun, and engaging radio show
• Attend public appearances, remotes, charitable and community events, as required
• Represent the Windspeaker Radio network brand with integrity
• Daily website content & social media updates
• Voice track when required and/or necessary for other Windspeaker Media Radio Stations across Alberta
• Researching and writing both local & provincial news stories
• Preparing stories for broadcast
• Creating web stories for our websites and social media platforms
• Continuously seek multimedia storytelling opportunities, while covering events that will enhance our coverage and content across all platforms
• Update and research community events for Public Service/Community Calendar
• Voice commercials as assigned by the Production Department
• Any other duties as assigned by Program Director

Essential Knowledge and Skills:

• Knowledge of Indigenous Culture and current events
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Must have a Valid Drivers License w/ Clean driving record
• Must be a team player with a positive attitude
• Internet and Social Media Savvy
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
• Self-motivated and able to take the appropriate direction
• Wide Orbit, Adobe Audition and Vox Pro Knowledge are assets
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
