The Tsuu’Tina Nation Fire Department discovered human remains while extinguishing an early morning grass fire on Apr. 3.
At about 5:30 a.m. firefighters responded to a grass fire near Range Road 40 and Township Road 241.
An autopsy was completed on Apr. 4, and police are treating the death as a homicide.
Cochrane RCMP and the Tsuut’ina Nation Police Service both attended, and now the Alberta RCMP Major Crime Unit is leading the homicide investigation.
