The YYC Music Awards for the past nine years have been highlighting leaders and talents of Calgary’s vibrate music industry.
For the first time in the history of the awards, an Indigenous Category has been added as a way to recognize the talents of artists from Calgary’s Indigenous community.
On May 23, President/Director of Programing of the awards Stephanie Hutchinson and local Indigenous Artist Wendy Walker stopped by CJWE to share how the category came to life for the 9th YYC Music Awards.
Deadline for the all categories including the Indigenous category are due May 31, 2024 with the first round of judging scheduled to begin late June.
