May 31 is the last day Calgary Residents can visit the Eau Claire Market as it will be turned over to the City of Calgary on June first.
The announcement of the closure came back in March as the market will become the site of the future Eau Claire Green Line LRT Station.
Eau Claire Market was first established back in the 1990’s to offer a space for local businesses along Calgary’s Bow River front.
However, over the years the Market couldn’t draw in enough foot traffic during its 30 plus years of operations.
The site will be privately developed to include residential, office, and retail area as the LRT station will be located underground.
Phase one of the Calgary’s new LRT line will be 18km from the community of Shepard to Eau Claire.
