Celebrating community and culture at 2024 Tsuu’tina Day

Since 1987 the Tsuut’ina Nation the parade and community celebration was organized to celebrate the economic achievements, the nation has made.

On June 27, 2024, the celebration started off in the morning with a parade which then transitioned to the Grey Eagle resort and casino.

For 2024 the parade marshal chosen was TC Energy President Greig Grant who has been a major partner with Tsuut’ina and is assisting in the development of a new building for the Gunaha Institute for language learning that is set to open sometime late September, early October.

This year the theme of the celebration was to honour the buffalo which historically provided everything the nation needed.

Tsuut’ina has been developing a commercial district along Buffalo Run boulevard and other programs that focus on empowering nation members on reserve.

Head Chief Roy Whiteny says its important to remember the accomplishments Tsuut’ina has made economically.

 

At the Grey Eagle, Nation Members where able to acquire their Treaty payments but also, connect with the various resources and departments available in Tsuut’ina.

Along with speeches from Tsuut’ina’s leadership, those in attendance where treated to performances from Indigenous artists including Tyler Two-Guns and Terri-Anne Strongarm.
