Rawson Lake Trail and basin, has been closed by Alberta Parks, including Sarrail Ridge in Peter Lougheed Provincial Park due to multiple grizzly bear sightings.
The popular hiking trail in Kananaskis Country will be closed until further notice
Park users are being reminded that they can encounter a bear anytime in the wild. Park visitors are reminded to exercise bear safety when travelling to the area.
Park visitors should always carry bear spray, make noise when on the trails, always keep all pets on a leash and close to you.
Visitors must always be aware of your surroundings on walking on trails and be respectful of the space and needs of wildlife.
If you encounter a bear, please report all bear sightings immediately to 403-591-7755.
