For the third year in a row, Indigenous Culture will be on display at Banff’s Sunshine Village for the September long weekend.
The goal is to educate visitors and Banff residents about the cultures and traditions about First Nation culture in Banff National Park.
For the weekend guests will be able to learn about the cultures of the Tsuut’ina and Stoney Nakoda Nations thanks to the partnerships with Brown Bear Events and Mini Thni Cultural Education School.
Guests will be able to experience dancing, drumming, and workshops designed to education the public about the culture of Treaty 7.
Kendra Scurfield of Banff Sunshine Village explained how the three days of workshops and cultural sharing has impacted the staff of one of Alberta’s busiest ski hills.
The program will be taking place throughout the long weekend during the hours of operation.
All are welcome and is free to those who either hike or have a valid 2024-2025 lift ticket to access the alpine village.
