Drivers in Medicine hat will see detours during water main installation

Construction in the city of Medicine Hat will see the closing of the 800 block of 5 Avenue SW to accommodate a water main installation.

This water main installation project stretches from 8 Street SW up to, and including, the intersection of 9 Street SW. Work is anticipated to begin Monday, September 9 and will last until Friday, September 20, weather permitting.

During this closure, 5 Avenue SW and 9 Street SW traffic will be detoured down 8 Street SW, 4 Avenue SW and 10 Street SW.

Detour and construction signage will be posted. The work zone will be fenced off for the public’s safety, and motorists are asked to obey all construction and detour signage in the area.
