On Sept. 30, communities around Canada take time to discuss the road of Truth and Reconciliation as full time and day residential schools are spotlighted.
Many walks and times of remembrance take place including the Tsuu’tina Nation who will be having a community walk on Sept. 26 at 9:30 a.m.
The walk is being organized by Tsuu’tina Health Services who will be having staff out in full force during the walk to support nation members during one of the most difficult days for Indigenous people on the Canadian calendar.
Lacy Runner of Tsuu’tina Health Services spoke with CJWE about the walk taking place ahead of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
The first 500 people to attend the walk will receive a special hoodie with an official Every Child Matters message in both English and the Tsuu’tina language.
