Join the Circle Connections for Reconciliation Society on Sept 29th at the Bert Church Theater for a screening of the award-winning documentary, “Muffins for Granny”, by creator (writer/director/producer), Nadia McLaren.

I had the opportunity to speak with Sue from Circle Connections for reconciliation to get the details.

Nadia McLaren is Anishnaabe Kwe (Bear Clan) and mixed ancestry whose family story is rooted in Biigtigong FN, Pic River, located on the North Shore of Lake Superior. She grew up in small
towns across Northwestern Ontario and calls Sioux Lookout home. Nadia created “Muffins for Granny,” in honor of her grandmother, Theresa McCraw.

This award-winning documentary involved extensive research with community Elders and Residential School Survivors, was the recipient of a prestigious Aboriginal Healing Foundation grant and is part of the esteemed Criterion Collection.

A conversation and workshop Nadia McLaren will follow the screening.
