The Airdrie Food Bank is urgently calling for food donations as they face increased demand ahead of Thanksgiving weekend as shelves are continuing to run low.
Christine Taylor, marketing and Communications Manager with Airdrie Food Bank spoke with CJWE about feeding over 700 families a week, with this past year feeding over 88,000 people, as the food bank is in need of Thanksgiving food for families in need.
Taylor adds with the continued growth of the population within Airdrie, the demand increases with the additional increase in prices for shopping in grocery stores and housing costs.
Taylor speaks on how community members can help with donations at local grocery stores, contributing volunteer time or funds.
