CJWE, Alberta’s Best Country is looking for a Full-Time on-air host.
The successful candidate will report to the program director and be based in Calgary and responsible for a live daily radio show. We want someone bold, engaged, and entertaining with superhuman social media skills. We’re looking not only for our next great on-air performer but for someone who wants to be part of CJWE Radio and the community.
CJWE broadcasts across Treaty 7 territory, including Calgary, Lethbridge & Medicine Hat.

Responsibilities and Duties:
- Produce and compile content for a daily, live show (Mon – Fri)
- Interact with listeners through social media, text, Phone, website, and email.
- Generate additional social media content (audio, written, video) to either complement on-air content or as new and separate digital content
- Conduct interviews (celebrity, client, local) for use as website content, a portion of which may also be used on the morning show.
- Host show at events, and from other communities in Southern Alberta
- Meet the needs of executing remote broadcasts (for sales) as required, both within and outside of normal hours of work
- Execute promotional appearances on behalf of the radio station
- Knowledge of Country Music from the 50’s to today
- Assist with commercial production as needed
- Voice track on other Windspeaker Radio Network stations as assigned by the Program Manager
Qualifications:
- Ability to tell a great story, engage on–air and in person, and never be boring.
- Great hallway presence, building positive relationships with co-workers.
- At least one year of experience in a radio broadcast environment ( or are willing to Learn)
- Familiarity, if not expertise, in the computer programs required to execute the job (like Wide Orbyt, Adobe Audition, Socast, common social media platforms)
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and clean driving record
