New Royalty and a new face will be appearing around the upcoming 2025 Calgary Stampede.
On Nov. 17 at the new BMO Centre, 25-year-old Jingle Dress Dancer Pacey Strangling Wolf of Kainai was crowned as the new 2025 Calgary Stampede First Nations Princess.
Strangling Wolf’s Blackfoot name is Otsskoiikitstakaii, which means “Blue Offering Woman.” She aspires to be an educator, teaching the Blackfoot language or drama to youth in the Strathmore area.
For the past 60 years, the Calgary Stampede has been empowering First Nations women in promoting the unique culture of Treaty seven.
Strangling Wolf shares how she plans to use her new role to promote reconciliation.
Strangling Wolf will begin her reign as First Nation’s Princess at the start of the new year with her counter part 2025 Stampede Princess Breanna Correia.
Their duties include sharing and celebrating the Stampede’s Western heritage, cultures, and community spirit, while benefiting from professional and personal development.

The duo will be promoting the Calgary Stampede throughout the new year by visiting various events and ceremonies throughout Alberta and beyond.
