The Canadian Centre for Behavioural Neuroscience in Lethbridge is home to leading behavioural neuroscientists and cutting edge research in Canada.  But not too long ago, behavioural neuroscience was a newly emerging field.  And at the heart of this new scientific frontier were two Southern Albertans, Dr. Brian Kolb and Dr. Ian Whishaw.

This past weekend in Lethbridge was the premiere of Brain Storm, a Bailey and Soda film, telling the amazing true story of this dynamic duo who would go on to propel the new behavioural neuroscience field forward in many ways, such as publishing the first textbook for the field and setting the global standard for neuroscience education.

“To me the film would only be a success if you left it learning more about brain health… obviously we couldn’t cover everything, but the film is meant to be a jumping off point for people to learn some really important things about brain health.” said Dr. Jenna Bailey, the director of Brain Storm.

The film will be shown on Telus Storyhive in 2025 and more local showings of it will be coming to Alberta soon.
