With Christmas only a month away, Santa’s helpers in Medicine Hat are getting ready to help those in need this holiday season.

For the past 38 years, the Medicine Hat’s Santa Claus Fund helps families experience the joy and warmth of the holidays.

In 2023, the fund supported 698 local families with approximately $90,000 dollars in grocery gift cards and gifts for children to have a special Christmas celebration.

Each year, volunteers donate their time to help those less fortunate which is something Executive Director Deanna Doerksen express pride in.

Currently there is no news when the Canada Post Strike will be over, Medicine Hat’s Santa Claus Fund is asking those wishing to donate either online or physically drop off the donation at 3257 Dunmore Rd SE in Medicine Hat.

Doerksen encourages community members to get involved and for those who need assistant that the doors of the fund are open.
