Cochrane RCMP charge Springbank teacher with sexual offences against a student

A Springbank Highschool teacher is currently facing charges for inappropriate behaviour with a student.

Cochrane RCMP began its investigation on Jan. 21 after being alerted by a female student who reported inappropriate behaviour from a teacher at Springbank Community Highschool.

After the investigation RCMP charged 49-year-old Timothy Bailey of Calgary with multiple sexual offences such as:

  • Child luring
  • Making sexually explicit material available to a child
  • Sexual exploitation

After a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, Bailey was released on conditions and will appear in Alberta Court of Justice on Feb. 18, 2025, in Cochrane.

At the time of his arrest, Bailey was a teacher at Springbank High School.

Cochrane RCMP is continuing their investigation and believe there may be more victims and are asking the public to come forward with any similar type incidents.
