RCMP have completed their investigation, and as a result, charges have been pursued against the driver of the semi-truck for a deadly crash in Drumheller.
On Nov. 14, 2024, around approximately 7:00 a.m., Drumheller RCMP, with the assistance of 3 local Fire Departments and EMS, responded to a report of a head-on collision.
Upon arrival, officers began an investigation into the collision which involved a detached semi tractor truck and a sedan. Unfortunately, the driver of the sedan was declared deceased at the scene.
Upon concluding the investigation, Drumheller RCMP have charged Navdeep Singh Gakhal, of Airdrie, with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death, and an offence under the Traffic Safety Act.
Gakhal was released to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Drumheller on March 14, 2025.
