For the past 19 years, Calgary’s Indigenous organization Miskanawah has been hosting an annual community-round dance to break down barriers and connect people with community resources.
In 2024, the round dance reached four thousand people in attendance with members from various communities outside of Calgary coming to take part and connect with friends.
Because of how busy and tight the round dance has gotten at the Genisis Centre location it has been over the past years, for the 19th anniversary the round dance will be held at Windsport located at Canada Olympic Park.
Nephew Keith spoke with Tara Filo-Hunt of Miskanawah to learn what people can expect at this year’s round dance at the new Windsport location.
