Watch out for anyone who is urgently demanding money through unexpected calls, texts, or emails. Fraudsters will often try to force a sense of alarm and pressure, and they may ask you to lie or keep a secret. Don’t give out your personal information or send money to anyone you have not met before. If you think you have received a fraudulent communication, report it to the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
