With so many world-drawing attractions and events, Alberta brings visitors from around the world.
For the past 25 years, Tyra, the world’s largest dinosaur, located in the town of Drumheller, will be closing as of 2029.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, March 26, by the Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce, which holds full ownership of the Tyra, the World’s Largest Dinosaur will be shifting how it supports local businesses by decommissioning Tyra.
Because of the sudden announcement made by the Chamber at their AGM, the Town held a special meeting on Thursday, March 27, in response to announce that they too are just as surprised as many residents and are open to extending the lease with the Chamber to keep Tyra.
Drumheller and District Chamber of Commerce announced that they are encouraging residents and travelers to visit the world’s largest dinosaur before its closure and will provide more information at a later date about a legacy project.
Tyra, the World’s Largest Dinosaur, is one of 20 World’s Largest roadside attractions across the province of Alberta.
