Although the second coming of winter has many indoors, music lovers can start thinking about the coming warm summer days of music as the Calgary Folk Festival announces its 2025 lineup.
This lineup includes headliners like Ruby Waters, Elisapie, and Ocie Elliott, who will perform at the 46th annual Folk Fest, which promises to be better than most fests in the past.
Each year, the Folk Fest not only brings artists from various genres of music but also offers connections between them through various workshops, bringing unique performances through musical collaboration that can’t be found anywhere else.
Tensions and disagreements between the Canadian and American Governments continue to affect how citizens on both sides of the border financially support more local products and businesses. Calgary Folk Fest Artistic Director Kerry Clarke says it is important to have artists from both sides of the border connect.

This year’s Folk Fest’s lineup is 60 per cent of homegrown Canadian artists with 13 Alberta artists including local Nakoda drummer Cedric Lightning bringing the sounds of Alberta’s diverse culture to audiences at the festival.
With free advance sales taking place throughout the past months for the summer festival, Folk Fest officials are hopeful that tickets will sell well as the early bird sales have shown promise and with a weaker Canadian dollar, the Calgary Folk Fest will attract Canadians to the city along with Amercian music lovers taking who might take advantage of their stronger dollar.
Ticket information and the full line up for the 2025 Calgary Folk Fest can be found on the Folk Fest’s website.
