Aggie Days are returning to Stampede Park this weekend as it celebrates its 40th anniversary.
Since 1985, it has educated urban residents about where their food comes from while being able to interact with those for generations who have been farming in Alberta.
This is done through family-friendly demonstrations like how to milk a cow with a special hands-on twist with a fake cow to see how difficult the process can be when it is done by hand.
Over the years, only approximately 5% per cent of Canada’s population are dedicated to the agriculture industry.
Brian Gross, Chair of the Stampede Agriculture Education Committee, explains the importance of seeing farmlive up close.

Along with exhibits and demonstrations about where your food comes from, Aggie Days will be featuring an exhibit called Born to Buck, which highlights the four-legged stars of the Stampede’s Rodeo with members from the Stampede Ranch.
Admission is free during this celebration of Canadian Agriculture, with doors open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, April 12, and Sunday, April 13.
More information can be found at the Stampede’s website.
