The Medicine Hat Tigers are sharpening their claws as they get ready to take on one of the League’s top 2025 teams, the Spokane Chiefs.
This is the first time the two teams have faced each other for a championship title, and currently, the Tigers are on a hot streak with a 10-game winning streak, along with WHL goal streak holder Gavin McKenna.
Last time the Tigers made it this far in the WHL since 2007 when they won the Championship title.
Meanwhile, the Chiefs are no pushovers themselves as they dominated the majority of the regular season in the Western Conference and were the first team in the league to clinch a spot in the playoffs.
The 2025 Championship Series will follow a 2-3-2 format, meaning the opening of the season will be a double header in Medicine Hat, with the next three games taking place in Spokane, then one game in both cities if needed.
Game 1 is scheduled for Friday, May 9, at Co-op Place in Medicine Hat with puck drop yet to be scheduled for the series.
