With a voice as distinct as her retro style, Calgary’s, Country Music Alberta’s two-time Female Artist of the Year, Mariya Stokes, has officially released her highly anticipated debut full-length album, Mood Ring, as of today – May 23, 2025!
It’s a beautiful kaleidoscope of country infused soul, R&B and pop. Featuring 14 songs, Stokes worked on this album with Juno Award-winners Justin Kudding and Spencer Cheyne, alongside frequent collaborator Lucas Gienow, to create the album’s anthemic choruses, gritty storytelling, and catchy basslines that trace a sound that doesn’t settle into one genre specifically.
Stokes made her way to the CJWE studio in Calgary to tell us more about, Mood Ring, her album release party at the National Music Center/Studio Bell on Friday, May 30th, her Calgary Stampede shows and about her upcoming Western Canada tour!
