Okotoks and Siksika host third annual Indigenous Market, Tipi Camp, and now Powwow

All are invited to the Okotoks Pow Wow, Tipi Camp, and market this weekend in Okotoks.

This Friday through to Sunday, May 30th to June 1st, an all-Indigenous market and tipi camp will return to the Okotoks Recreation Centre for the third year.  Hosted by the Town of Okotoks in partnership with the Siksika Nation, this free, public event will also feature a competition pow wow for the first time, with the grand entry happening at 1:00 PM both Saturday and Sunday.

Desmond Jackson, the Indigenous Relations Advisor for the Town of Okotoks, invites all to attend:

 

There will also be a ceremony Saturday evening during the supper break, from 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, to honour and celebrate the Indigenous graduates from the Foothills School Division (Okotoks, Diamond Valley, and High River).
