Everyone’s heard about the dangers of plastic polluting the oceans. Still, it is not just plastic straws; it is not just in the oceans: micro-fibre plastics from synthetic clothing break down and find their way into all nearby water.
The Wilder Institute and the Calgary Zoo have unveiled 15 large sculptures made completely from trash recovered from the Pacific coast.
Brad Parks, Conservation Education Director from Washed Ashore, the collective behind the sculptures, shares more:
Parks also shared that wearing natural-fibre clothing, made of linen, cotton, or wool, is completely safe, and thrifting helps, too.
