The Truth and Reconciliation 94 Calls to Action were first published in 2015, which calls upon people of Canada to advance the process of reconciliation on personal, corporate, and cultural levels.

Since 2017, Fluor Canada has been taking on call 92, which calls upon the corporate sector in Canada to adopt the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples as a reconciliation framework and to apply its principles, norms, and standards to corporate policy and core operational activities involving Indigenous peoples and their lands and resources.

One of the ways Fluor has taken on this action was by becoming PAIR Certified by the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business.

The PAIR Certification means the company has taken efforts companies gain a greater understanding of Indigenous culture and values, and promoting their PAIR level signalto communities that they have committed to working with.

In call 92, subsection three of the 94 Calls to Action, which calls upon companies to educate their staff about the history and culture of Indigenous people where they work.

For their staff at the Calgary office, Fluor has had their staff take part in various workshops, which are led by Indigenous organizations like Authenticly Indigenous.

During National Indigenous History Month and before National Indigenous Peoples Day, Fluor held a special celebration with Authenticly Indigenous to promote independent Indigenous businesses, and a Powwow demonstration with local dancers.

On the day of the celebration for the staff at the Calgary Office, Nefew Keith spoke with Claire Wyllie, Controller, and Conrad Dickson, Project Operations Leader of Fluor Canada, to learn more about the day.
