The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has charged a Calgary Police Officer with two counts of second-degree murder.
Following a thorough review by the Alberta Crown Prosecution Service in accordance with the Police Act, ASIRT charged Constable Craig Stothard of the Calgary Police Service on July 14, 2025, with two counts of second-degree murder.
The announcement comes after an investigation that was launched back in May of 2023, where Constable Stothard was engaged in a slow-speed pursuit of a stolen van on Memorial Drive and later had discarded his weapon, resulting in the deaths of Wesley Davidson and Levon Boyce Fox.
No new information has been released as of Monday, July 14, 2024, Constable Stothard appeared at Calgary Court of King’s Bench.
