Sik Ooh Kotoki (Lethbridge) hosts first INFR Tour Rodeo Qualifier

For the first time ever the city of Lethbridge will be hosting one of the Indian National Finals Rodeo Tour Rodeo Qualifier. Happening this weekend July 25 and 26 for the Nitsitapii Reconciliation Days.

 

The collaboration between the Rocky Mountain Turf Club, The Kainai Nation, and the city of Lethbridge are coming together in reconciliation for the Sik Ooh Kotoki (Lethbridge) INFR Tour Rodeo Qualifier.

Nadine Tailfeathers, the Sr. manager for the Kainai Nation Administration says this event hopes to bring community together Indigenous and non-Indigenous.

 

This high energy and vibrant event is all ages. Admission is 10.00 and 65+ and children under 7 years old are free.

The slack will begin at 9:00 am and the main performance will start at 6:00 pm with all the main rodeo categories such as Roping, barrel racing, tie down roping, steer wrestling, bull riding, saddle bronc, and bareback.

The top performers in the Jr. and Sr. adult categories will be qualified to move onto the INFR in Las Vegas, Nevada. Happening this Fall in October.

They will also be showcasing the exciting Indigenous relay races with approximately 16 to 18 teams registered and will be running on both days right after the rodeo.
