The Whoop-Up Day spirit was in full swing as the community gathered for a free pancake breakfast in Rotary Square, located in the heart of Lethbridge.

Schools will have students in their halls once again, and in Lethbridge, its two post-secondary schools, Lethbridge Polytechnic and the University of Lethbridge, came together to promote their upcoming academic years.

This pancake breakfast rounded the block with locals and visitors alike, ready to dig in while seeing what their local post-secondary institutions have to offer.

Manager of Global Recruitment for Lethbridge Polytechnic Cybil Cheung expressed the importance of letting the locals know about their options when seeking the next step in their education journey, amidst the rising costs of living in Canada.

Being a part of the local community is a major role that the two schools play in Lethbridge, as students seek to rent, work, and spend at local businesses.

Dr. Michelle Helstein Provost and Vice-President Academic for the University of Lethbridge, explains how the event can help the transition into post-secondary studies as they become part of Lethbridge.

Both instructions are looking forward to welcoming current and future students in September after the long weekend.
