A new skateboard park is set to open in Coaldale on Saturday, September 20th. This community project is the result of a collaboration between the Kingsman Club of Coaldale, which has committed $400,000, and the town of Coaldale, which matched that amount. Additional funding came from the provincial government, with a contribution of $391,715.10, and local organizations, including the Community Wellness Association with $75,000 and the Community Foundation of Lethbridge with $15,000.

The total project budget reached $1.2 million. In addition to the skate park, the site will also feature a new playground and an outdoor basketball court, further enhancing the recreational options for residents.

For the grand opening, Borderline Skate Shop from Lethbridge will host an all-ages skateboard jam, featuring three world-class skateboarders who will demonstrate their skills. Excitement is in the air as cash and prizes will be awarded for outstanding skateboard performances during the event. This collaborative effort has truly brought the community together to create a first-class facility for everyone to enjoy.
