Winter, cold and snow are on the way. It’s hard to think about, but it’s gonna happen. If you are in Cochrance, Bragg Creek or Rocky View Country, you can help keep families warm this year in Cochrane.

Cochrane’s annual Jacket Racket is returning, offering residents free, gently used winter clothing and Halloween costumes, helping families cope with the rising costs of winter wear.

From October 1 to 15, donations of jackets, hats, mittens, gloves, snowsuits, boots, and costumes are being collected at nine locations across town, including BGC Cochrane, Bow Valley Credit Union, Cochrane Safeway, SLS Centre, and others.

Kathleen Dennis and Chiarra Nicolle from Family & Community Support Services/Family Resource Network in Cochrane tells us more:

This year’s Jacket Racket event takes place Saturday, October 18, from 10 a.m. to noon at Cochrane Alliance Church, 902 Glenbow Drive. Residents can shop for free, gently used winter wear and a selection of Halloween costumes just in time for the season.
