CJWE broadcasts across Southern Alberta, including Calgary (88.1 FM – HD Channel 1), Lethbridge (103.5 FM) & Medicine Hat (106.3 FM)
Reports to: Director of Radio, Windspeaker Radio Network
Location: Calgary. However, travel will be required throughout Southern Alberta
Position Description
- Be a part of the community, live, work, and play here
- Researching and writing provincial news stories
- Voice tracking programs across the Windspeaker Radio Network, as required
- Represent the radio station at community events
- Creating web stories for our websites and social media platforms
- Continuously seek multimedia storytelling opportunities, while covering events that will enhance our coverage and content across all platforms
- Update and research community events for Public Service/Community Calendar
- Participant in weekly news meetings
- Traveling to communities we serve
- Other duties as assigned by management
Position Requirements
Newsroom experience or applicable broadcast education
Awareness of Indigenous culture & issues is an asset
Strong on-air delivery
The ability to work within a fast-paced environment both individually and as a team
A valid driver’s license
Familiarity with Adobe Audition & Wide Orbyt
Ability to use social media (X, Instagram, Facebook, Socast etc.)
Knowledge of Country & Rock Music
