The Lethbridge Police are conducting a check stop this weekend, which will help to bring in donations for those in need.
This Saturday (December 6), the Lethbridge Police will be hosting their 6th annual Charity Check Stop at the West parking lot of the Park Place Mall in Lethbridge.
According to Constable Dana Holland with the Lethbridge Police, they are accepting these donations to support the community.
The Charity Check Stop is being supported by the Lethbridge Police Association, Park Place Mall, Two Guys Flooring, Grassroots Realty, and Toys “R” Us.
Constable Holland says this Check Stop began, due to a drop in donations during the Covid pandemic.
At the Charity Check Stop last year, they received 2,981 toys, which is the highest amount of toys they have ever received.
They also received 534 pounds of food, which was down from the previous year, and they also received $470 in cash donations.
Constable Holland says they are hoping to receive more donations than in previous years.
The Charity Check stop will be happening from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, December 6th, by the old Sears at Park Place Mall.
If you aren’t able to make it down for the Charity Check Stop, but still wish to donate, Constable Holland says there are still ways to donate.
According to Constable Holland, they appreciate everyone who comes out to donate.
