BeTheChangeYYC helps to make sure the unhoused have the necessities. BeTheChangeYYC
There is a group of volunteers in Calgary who are helping to bring warmth, food, and dignity to those who are without homes in the city.
BeTheChangeYYC is a non-profit organization in Calgary that provides necessities to, and helps to advocate for the homeless in the city.
According to BeTheChangeYYC’s Operations Director, Karen McPherson, they go around downtown Calgary and help provide the unhoused with what they need.
BeTheChangeYYC was started by someone who had experienced homelessness in his youth.
For those who wish to help BeTheChangeYYC help others, McPherson says there a few ways to help.
While BeTheChangeYYC helps those in need, they, themselves, are currently in a bit of a bind.
According to McPherson, they are needing to find a new home for the office.
McPherson says they have heard about how positive of an impact they are having on the community.
For those who want to donate items to BeTheChangeYYC, McPherson says they need undergarments, such as socks and underwear.
