There’s something extra magical about the Calgary Public Library this time of year, and no, it’s not just the twinkle lights or the smell of hot chocolate drifting through the lobby. The Library has officially launched its new holiday campaign, Wish Together, Grow Together, and it’s all about bringing Calgarians closer through stories, celebrations, and a little seasonal sparkle.
We got to speak with with Heather Robertson, the Library’s Executive Director of Service Design and Innovation, to chat about everything from their brand new 2025 Books of the Year list, to why December might just be the best month to wander the stacks and isles of books! From cozy movie nights to the Mayor’s Holiday Storytime, plus a community Wish List designed to help library dreams come true, there’s a lot to unwrap and it all kicked off earlier this month.
