The Calgary Police and Tsuut'ina Nation Police are trying to locate a person involved in a homicide.

The Tsuut’ina Nation Police and the Calgary Police are investigating a suspicious death that happening on Wednesday in the Calgary community of Ogden.

At roughly 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 10, police responded to reports of gunshots in the 7000 block of 20 Street S.E.

Once on scene, police located a deceased person located outside of his vehicle.

At approximately 1:20 a.m., Tsuut’ina Nation Police Officers observed a blue Nissan Sentra driving aggressively, turning southbound near the Elbow River bridge onto Weaselhead Road.

Police attempted a traffic stop for the vehicle, but the driver fled.

Eventually, the vehicle came to a stop near Buffalo Run Blvd., and four men fled on foot.

Calgary police and Tsuut’ina Nation Police took three people into custody, including one person close to Buffalo Run Blvd., and two other people several hours later in the community of Palliser.

Police believe the fourth man fled over the Stoney Trail pedestrian bridge into the community of Woodbine, and it is possible this person may have accessed the communities of Oakridge, Cedarbrae, and Palliser.

This man is described as having a dark complexion, and was wearing dark clothing and shoes.

Police say this man may have approached members of the public after 1:20 a.m., seeking help or requesting a ride to another location.

Because of that, the Calgary Police are asking for the public’s assistance.

Anyone who may have been approached by this individual or may have captured video footage that may help identifying and locating this man is asked to contact the police.

One of the people have since been released, but two of the individuals are still in custody on unrelated warrants.

These individuals are not Tsuut’ina Nation residents.

A burned-out vehicle was located just west of Weaselhead Road on Tsuut’ina Nation, and investigators are working on determining if this vehicle is connected to the shooting incident.

After an autopsy was completed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner today (Thursday, December 11), the deceased has been identified as 32-year-old Feysal Osman ABDUL-AZIZ.

This incident is Calgary’s 14th homicide to date this year.

“This is a targeted incident that is believed to have connections to organized crime,” Inspector Darren Smith of the Calgary Police Service Major Crimes Section stated in a media release. “While homicides have decreased compared to previous years, we fully understand the deep impact violence has on the community, even if there is no current or active risk to the public at this time. Our members continue to work diligently to advance the investigation, which is still in its early stages.”

Anyone with information or dashcam footage related to this incident are encouraged to contact police.
