The High River Stampede Breakfast is returning for its third year, but with a new media sponsor.

The organizing committee for the 3rd Annual High River Stampede Breakfast has recently announced that CJWE Radio is the official media sponsor for this year’s pancake breakfast, which is happening on Saturday, July 25, at George Lane Memorial Park.

According to the High River Stampede Breakfast Event Organizer, Rick Green, they are excited for this new sponsorship.

Green says they began this Stampede Breakfast as a result of the COVID pandemic.

Their first Stampede Breakfast, Green says, didn’t go as smoothly as it could have.

On top of the pancake breakfast, there will be plenty of other activities for people to enjoy, and a couple of the activities will have prizes.

Green adds that the four teams that will compete in the final race of the Soapbox Chuckwagon Races will also get a guided barn tour from professional chuckwagon drivers and their teams.

The Soapbox Chuckwagon Races is for kids aged 6 to 12.

There will also be a World Pancake Eating Challenge, where competitors will compete to see who can eat as many pancakes a possible in 15 minutes.

On top of that, there will be a judged Community Chili Cook-Off with prizes, an Indigenous cultural area that will feature artisans and cultural demonstrations, and more.

There will also be roaming guitarists who will help keep people entertained while the bands are on break.

At this year’s High River Stampede Breakfast, people will also be able to take in some line dancing.

They are still looking for sponsors for this event.

In a press release about the 2026 High River Stampede Breakfast, Green adds more about the new sponsorship.

“We are thrilled to welcome CJWE Windspeaker Radio as our media partner for 2026,” Green stated. “CJWE does an incredible job connecting communities across Alberta, and their support will help us share the story of the High River Stampede Breakfast and invite even more families to experience this great community tradition.”

Sarah Scott from CJWE will be the MC for this Stampede Breakfast, and adds that the station is excited for this partnership as well.

“As a station dedicated to celebrating community, culture, and connection, CJWE is excited to partner with the High River Stampede Breakfast,” said Sarah Scott. “Events like this bring people together in a meaningful way, and we’re proud to help share the energy and tradition of this special day with our listeners.”

She goes on to say that this event helps to showcase the community’s hospitality.

“The High River Stampede Breakfast really brings the community, the Foothills and Southern Alberta together! It’s become an event that the town’s residents look forward to and get excited about! It truly showcases our small-town hospitality and warmth through the volunteers and attendees. It’s not your typical Stampede Breakfast! It’s got a lot of heart and it’s fun for everyone for a whole day!”
