The Calgary Stampede is set to highlight Indigenous excellence with its First Nations Rodeo and Relay on June 13 at GMC Stadium. The event will feature top competitors in rodeo events and the fast-paced relay race, celebrating culture, skill, and community.
Joel Cowley, CEO of the Calgary Stampede spoke with CJWE on the excitement if the first inaugural First Nations Rodeo and Relay, an event he says that makes the future look exciting for the newly added attraction.
Cowley adds that the First Nations Rodeo and Relay will bring a sense of culture and inclusivity with the event, with advisors from the Elbow River Camp bringing in drummers and dancers to the Rodeo and Relay inside GMC arena.
