The Government of Alberta announced the Medicine Hat Regional Airport is one of ten regional airports to be awarded the Regional Airport Development grant.
The $150,000 investment will fund a feasibility study and business case to to evaluate the lifespan, condition, and capacity of airport infrastructure across all major asset classes and justify airport capital development and investment opportunities.
The Airport Master-plan was endorsed by City Council in November 2023. The Airport Master-plan is intended to pave the way for boosting the airport’s economic output and toward keeping Medicine Hat connected to other economies and major markets.
This first phase of the project is expected to be complete by September 2024.
