Aboriginal Awareness Week kicked off with the Opening Ceremony today

Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary kicked off with their opening ceremonies today at Olympic Plaza at 11:30 am.

100’s of Calgarians gathered to take in an Indigenous Market, special performances, displays of Indigenous Culture, and speeches from dignitaries.

Mayor Joti Gondek addressed the crowd and spoke of the importance of Aboriginal Awareness Week to Calgarians.

Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary will be holding events all week culminating with the June 22, 2024, (Saturday) Family Day & Powwow, Handgames Tournament and Indigenous Idol at Elbow River Camp, Enmax Park Calgary Stampede.
