Bison are one of the most important animals to the Plains Nations in Canada and that history of the Blackfoot Confederacy is on full display at the UNESCO World Heritage Site Head Smashed in Historic Site.

One of the ways the site engages with its victors is every Wednesday throughout the month of July and August the site hold traditional drumming and dancing at it’s outdoor plaza.

Along with the dancers, visitors are able to engage with local Blackfoot Elders to learn more about Blackfoot culture and traditions.

CJWE Spoke with Quinton Crow Shoe of the Heritage Site about the weekly event.

More details about Dancing and Drumming can be found on the historic sites website.
