The City of Calgary has awarded $1 million in grant funding to 10 non-profit organizations to deliver innovative projects that increase housing stability and successful tenancies for affordable housing residents or people in housing need.
The 10 organizations with funded projects from the Home Program are; 1) Calgary John Howard Society (CJHS), 2) Closer to Home, 3) Distress Centre, 4) Highbanks Independent Living for Parenting Youth Society, 5) Miskanawah Community Services Association, 6) Momentum, 7) Siksika Off-Reserve Affordable Housing Project Limited (SORAH), 8) The SHARP Foundation, 9) Trellis Society and 10) Wood’s Homes.
The Home Program was launched in 2017 and has since funded over 100 projects that improve housing outcomes for Calgarians.
The Home program is part of Home is Here, The City’s Housing Strategy and will support affordable housing providers to deliver services that make a positive impact for Calgarians. Approved projects will begin implementation later in 2024 and will be completed by late 2026.
