Woman killed in a collision between her vehicle and a train pulling a line of tanker cars near Airdrie

A woman was killed in a collision between a vehicle and a train northwest of Airdrie on Thursday.

Emergency crews responded to the crash near Range Road 11 and Township Road 274, just west of Highway 2, around 12:30 p.m.

RCMP say the vehicle was heading east on Township Road 274 when it was struck by a train at a rail crossing.

According to Mounties, the female driver of the vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was inside the vehicle.
