Taza Park, one of North America’s largest Indigenous-led real estate developments, has officially launched on Tsuut’ina Nation.
In partnership with developer Canderel, the project will offer leasehold ownership homes, where buyers own their homes but not the land. Builders like Homes by Avi, Brookfield Residential, and Crystal Creek Homes will construct over 6,500 units across three community villages on 1,200 acres. The development is expected to take 15 to 20 years, with home sales starting in May and construction beginning in June. Plans for purpose-built rentals will be announced this summer.
Bryce Starlight, vice president of development at Taza Development Corporation, spoke with CJWE, about the 13 billion dollar development project that would look like anywhere else, being on Tssut’ina land with the culture and traditions brought to the forefront in a modern way.
