June is Pride Month and here at CJWE we are proud to be inclusive and we truly believe love is love!
Pride Month is a time for visibility, reflection, celebration, and advocacy. Pride Month recognizes the resilience, diversity, and contributions of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and other identities under the LGBTQ+ umbrella. It’s a chance to celebrate love in all its forms, affirm the right of every person to live openly and authentically, and continue pushing for equity and justice. Throughout the month, parades, events, educational initiatives, and acts of solidarity help raise awareness about the ongoing challenges the LGBTQ+ community faces, while also celebrating the progress that has been made. Pride is both a joyful celebration and a call to action—a reminder that everyone deserves dignity, acceptance, and equal rights.
We had the chance to speak with Leigh from the Foothills Pride Society about the history behind Pride Month, events and resources for everyone to be able to participate!
