School’s out, and summer vibes are here! While many people take in the summer heat and enjoy the various summer festivals, which include the consumption of alcohol and cannabis.
While the messaging of impaired driving has become part of everyday life, it still happens.
According to the Alberta Government, impaired driving remains the largest contributor to fatal and injury collisions on Alberta Roads.
In 2023, one in 14 drivers involved in a fatal collision was legally impaired at the time of the collision, with 29 people dying and 214 people seriously injured in collisions involving an impaired driver.
Nefew Keith spoke with MADD Calgary’s Chapter President, Aaron Libby, about being safe this summer.
